Clyde Medicals have over 20-years of experience providing driver medicals.
Our in-house doctors provide a wide range of medical examinations covering the LGV, HGV and PCV bus licences for delegates over the required age limit.
The medical examinations take between 20 and 30 minutes to complete and include the following elements:
- Completion of questionnaire
- Full basic medical examination
- Basic eye test
- Blood pressure
- Urinalysis test
Upon successful completion of the medical, a certificate will be issued on the same day as the appointment.
Please Note – patients will also be informed of any abnormal findings which could affect the issue or renewal of the licence.
This certificate can then be returned alongside a completed D4 medical form to the DVLA. For more information regarding ‘Medical Rules for Drivers’ please refer to the DVLA website.
Lorry drivers are required to have a medical:
- At the age of 45
- After the age of 45 every five years until the age of 65
- Each year after the age of 65
The DVLA will usually send out a reminder letter, together with the D4 medical form, a few weeks before your medical is due. Your renewal/medical examination requirements can be determined from the expiry date on the back of your plastic licence. If you think your renewal is due but you haven’t heard from DVLA you will need to contact them.
